ABOUT US
"Serving the Underserved"
We exist to "Equip Underserved People for Success and Advancement in Life." Inner City Empowerment Community Development Corporation focuses on Youth Empowerment, Development, and the Arts. Youth receive inspiration and impartation as they learn about life, life skills, themselves, and how to use their talents for good and give back to the world around them.
OUR PROGRAMS
"We've served up a lot over the years..."
Our main programming is geared toward equipping our youth for success and advancement in life. Under the umbrellas of our men (M.O.D.D.) and women’s (M.O.D.E.L.) groups, this initiative is geared toward mentoring and equipping our youth through camps, classes, and fun fellowships. Youth will receive inspiration and impartation as they not only learn about life, life skills, and themselves but they will be encouraged to use their talents while being equipped with the developmental and professional skills to live a successful life. During this programming our skilled volunteers and staff will teach our youth:
- Job Readiness/Career Development
- Etiquette
- Wardrobe & Hygiene
- Computer Skills
- Basic Administrative & Clerical Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Cooking
- Sewing
- Carpentry
- Construction
- Landscaping
- Grooming/Barber
- Musical Instruments

- Drama
OUR HISTORY
"This is Us Over the Years..."
Our "Ready to Excel Backpack & School Supply Giveaway & Rally" has provided thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies, hundreds of dollars in scholarships in the form of Walmart gift cards, and school uniform vouchers. We have involved motivational guest speakers and artists, who have always provided tremendous inspiration during our events for our school-aged children and youth returning to school. We have provided well over 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children and Youth in underserved communities.
Holiday Giveaways & Blessings – We have donated hundreds of bags of groceries and turkeys and hams during Thanksgiving, and provided scarves, gloves, and hats to the families of needy children during our Mitten Tree campaigns. Also, to date, we have helped approximately 175 Youth in need and their families during Christmas by providing thousands of items fulfilling numerous wish lists, including clothes, pajamas, coats, scarves, hats, boots, toys, video game systems, beds, etc.
Our girl’s mentoring sessions (The Princess Paradigm) for our young girls and teens have included everything from hygiene and etiquette classes, to pajama parties and girls’ empowerment workshops at hotels, to cultural enrichment outings and luncheons located in downtown Chicago.
Performing Arts – In an effort to revive, inspire, and encourage the communities we serve, we have created innovative programming which includes utilizing the mediums of drama, dance, and music to address cultural issues including gun and gang violence, mental health issues, poverty, and financial hardship. Our dramatic presentations and stage productions have been nothing shy of uplifting and transforming.
